The UN Security Council will hold a meeting due to the Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. Russia's first deputy permanent representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, wrote about this on Telegram.

Polyansky added that the Maltese presidency had scheduled it for 15:00 New York time (22:00 Moscow time) on April 2. Earlier, Al Hadath TV channel reported that the death toll as a result of a missile attack on the Syrian consulate had risen to 11. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that an employee of the Swiss Embassy was summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry after the Israeli Air Force attack.
