The police responded to a call about a shooting in one of the houses, where the suspect also opened fire on them.
It is noted that several police officers were injured when they tried to move a child from the house where the shooting took place to a safe place.
A special operation is underway to arrest the shooter.
Earlier, one person died and two were injured in a shooting at a church in the city of Aurora in the US state of Colorado.
