There have been many trips on double tracks on the East Coast Line through Hudiksvall municipality.

The Swedish Transport Administration is now working on choosing a geographical area for a future double track through the municipality.

The stretch runs from Enånger in the south and almost 40 kilometers north via Hudiksvall to Stegskogen.

The track is today single-track and according to the Swedish Transport Administration, the capacity problems are obvious and the speed is limited.

Several suggestions for station modes

The Swedish Transport Administration has three publishers at station locations through Hudiksvall - an eastern alternative adjacent to the existing travel center and a western one at the height of Bergsjövägen on the western edge of the city, as well as a central alternative in the Glysis area.

In Iggesund, there are two publishers at station locations - one on a land bridge through the central parts of the community and a location near the E4, about three kilometers west of the community.

Consultation period

The consultation period starts on Monday and lasts until March 18 this year, when all alternatives will be presented.

The consultation is conducted digitally as a result of the pandemic.

- Here we want everyone to take the chance now and really leave their views on the proposals, says Peter Nyberg, project manager at the Swedish Transport Administration.

After the consultation has been completed, the comments received on the consultation document will be compiled and dealt with in a consultation report.

The Swedish Transport Administration will then, during the winter of 2022/2023, produce a basis for taking a position for the selection of proposals.
