The cost of some furniture has increased by up to 50 percent, writes the newspaper The Guardian, but Ikea estimates that the general increase is around nine percent.

The global logistics disruptions that occurred during the pandemic are behind the price increases, according to the company.

"For the first time since higher costs began to affect the global economy, Ikea will therefore raise its prices in the coming weeks.

The increases are global and on average around 9 percent ", writes Sandra Jakob, press contact at Ikea Sweden.

How customers in Sweden are affected is still unclear.

"The increases vary from product to product and from country to country depending on inflationary pressures, as well as on how the commodity and supply chain looks for the country and the individual products," writes Sandra Jakob.
