The boy has not yet been charged and is in custody.
The identities of the deceased and the detainee were not disclosed.
According to the policeman, the victims of the shooter were between 14 and 16 years old.
Earlier in the Associated Press, citing data from the Secretariat of Public Security of the Brazilian state of Ceara, reported the death of five people as a result of shooting during the Christmas celebrations on the football field.
