Germany records the first death of a patient with the Omicron mutant

Today, Thursday, the German health authorities announced the registration of the first death of a person infected with the new Omicron variant of the emerging corona virus, according to Al Arabiya Urgent.

In the same context, Karl Lauterbach, German Minister of Health, revealed his expectations for an increase in cases of the emerging coronavirus by the new year.

And the German Minister of Health said, it is possible that individuals will need a fourth dose of Corona virus vaccines, in order to maintain the immune response against the coronavirus.

Lauterbach added, during his statements to the public radio network WDR 2, that the country did not witness a large or rapid wave of injuries from the new Omicron variant like the rest of European countries.

Lauterbach confirmed: This will change next year and in the first week of January, according to what was published by the British newspaper The Guardian.

The German government advises its people to get vaccinations and booster injections if they have already received the initial doses of coronavirus vaccines, in addition to limiting their contacts during the holiday period.

It is worth noting that Germany requested 80 million doses of vaccines for the Omicron variant for delivery in April or last May, and the Ministry of Health said that the new strain will be dominant in the coming weeks.

The head of the German Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases, Lothar Wheeler, explained that it is necessary for individuals to limit gatherings, even if they receive booster doses of vaccines against the Corona virus.
