During his interview broadcast Wednesday evening on TF1, President Emmanuel Macron stressed that vaccination was the main lever in the fight against the fifth wave of Covid-19.

For 5-11 year olds, in whom the virus circulates a lot, the Head of State said that vaccination was "desirable" but not compulsory.

Emmanuel Macron ruled on Wednesday that the vaccination of children against Covid-19 was "desirable" but dismissed an obligation, considering that it was the "choice of parents".

"Between 5 and 11 years old, the health authorities explained that this would protect", "and therefore I think it is desirable", he said on TF1, but "they rarely have serious forms even if these last weeks, we have had dozens of cases of children (...) with serious forms ".
