Today, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, is paying an official visit to the Republic of Turkey, at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

During the visit, His Highness will discuss with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey, bilateral relations, ways to enhance cooperation, and joint work between the two countries in various fields to achieve their mutual interests, in addition to all regional and international issues and developments of interest to the two countries.

The UAE and the Republic of Turkey seek to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and push them towards broader horizons.

In this context, it has recently witnessed a number of official contacts and meetings between the leadership and officials of the two countries, during which they discussed ways to strengthen and develop bilateral relations to serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples, in addition to a number of regional and international issues and files of common interest.

On August 30, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey, during a telephone conversation between them, discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance and develop them to serve the common interests of the two countries. and their two friendly peoples.

During the call, His Highness and the Turkish President exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues and files of common interest.

On August 18, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received an Emirati delegation headed by His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser.

During the meeting, which took place in Ankara, the two sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between the UAE and Turkey, especially economic and trade cooperation, and investment opportunities in the fields of transport, health and energy, in order to achieve common interests between the two countries.

The friendly Republic of Turkey is participating in Expo 2020 Dubai, and the Turkish ambassador to the country, Tocay Tuncer, considered that this participation embodies a new era of cooperation and strengthening relations with the UAE.

Tunshir said: "The global event represents an opportunity to showcase the components of Turkey's diverse economy, which includes several sectors, and contributes to promoting trade growth, especially with the export of more foodstuffs, ready-made foods, fruits, vegetables and building materials that the region needs and Turkey owns."

He stressed that "Expo 2020 Dubai" contributes to achieving Turkey's vision for diversified tourism, including from the UAE and the Arab Gulf countries.

In early November, the UAE provided 36.7 million dirhams ($10 million), to contribute to supporting the rehabilitation stages of some Turkish regions affected by forest fires and floods. In this regard, the UAE expressed its solidarity with the Turkish people in these exceptional circumstances, stressing its keenness to contribute to providing appropriate support to mitigate the humanitarian repercussions and damage caused by floods in the north of the country and forest fires in southwest Turkey.

According to a report by the Ministry of Economy, the total non-oil foreign trade between the UAE and Turkey, during the past decade, amounted to about 329 billion dirhams (89.6 billion dollars), and non-oil trade between the two countries grew by 21%, during 2020, to reach 32.7 billion dirhams ( 8.9 billion dollars), compared to 26.8 billion dirhams (7.3 billion dollars).

Non-oil foreign trade was distributed between direct trade by 88.5%, with a value of 28.9 billion dirhams, and free zones by 11.5%, with a value of 3.7 billion dirhams.
