Borrell urged to integrate border crises into new EU defense strategy

“We see that everything can turn into weapons, even people who have been brought thousands of kilometers away to be turned into a means of destabilization.

The new defense strategy should prepare the EU to respond to such situations, ”Borrell said.

On Monday, November 15, the foreign ministers of the EU countries agreed on the introduction of the fifth package of sanctions on Belarus.

After expanding the criteria for the sanctions regime, the EU will be able to introduce restrictive measures against those involved in the migration crisis.

Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei and Borrell discussed the situation on the Belarusian-Polish border.
