Lebanon stops issuing this category of passports

The General Directorate of Public Security in Lebanon issued a decision to stop issuing passports that are valid for five years, until further notice, citing “technical reasons.”

A statement issued by the directorate, published on its official website today, stated, “To prevent any confusion, the directorate confirmed that it will continue to receive requests for obtaining or exchanging Lebanese biometric passports that are valid for ten years for adults, while requests for obtaining or exchanging passports valid for five years have been limited to those under the age of eight. Only ten years old.



The Directorate had earlier announced that it would stop receiving applications for obtaining or replacing Lebanese biometric passports, valid for five years for adults, until further notice, for technical reasons.
