“During the conversation, F. Hussein shared information about the attempted assassination of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Kazemi by means of drone strikes on his residence located in the“ green zone ”of Baghdad,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The parties also discussed a number of topical issues on the agenda of the two countries.
Earlier, Al Arabiya TV channel reported that the residence of the Iraqi prime minister was attacked from a mined drone.
Mustafa al-Kazemi said he was not injured in the attack.
The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the assassination attempt and called on all political forces in the country to show restraint.
