He made it clear that the UK supports the Iraqi people and supports Prime Minister al-Kazemi's efforts to form a post-election government, which is vital to Iraq's long-term stability, ”the statement said.
Earlier, Al Arabiya TV channel reported that a mined drone attack was carried out on the residence of the Iraqi prime minister.
Mustafa al-Kazimi said he was not injured in the attack.
The US State Department has offered to help Iraq investigate the assassination attempt.
