An upcoming cabinet reshuffle in Jordan... and the ministers submit their resignations

Jordan's state-owned TV channel Al-Mamlaka announced on Sunday that government ministers have submitted their resignations ahead of an upcoming cabinet reshuffle.

Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh called on members of his government to submit their resignations in preparation for a government reshuffle.

Official sources said that this would be the fourth amendment since Bishr Al-Khasawneh took office in October 2020.

The Jordanian monarch, King Abdullah, appointed Al-Khasawneh in order to restore citizens' confidence in the way to deal with the health crisis caused by the outbreak of the Corona virus pandemic, and to calm anger over the inability of successive governments to fulfill their promises of prosperity and curb corruption.

Al-Khasawneh, who was educated in Britain, had worked as a diplomat for a long time before working as an advisor in the royal court.

The Khasawneh government was praised by the International Monetary Fund for its handling of the economy during the pandemic.
