Lorås won a competition for the most original concert hall - the villagers are invited to an opera in a moose slaughterhouse

This spring, the municipality of Strömsund announced an organizing competition where they searched for original concert venues in the municipality.

The prize was a concert with the singer and musician Mikael Rönnberg who is this year's scholarship in memory of Hans-Erik Dahlgren.

Moose slaughterhouse was selected

Many different proposals came in, but in the end five places were selected.

One of them was the moose slaughterhouse in the village of Lorås.

- It will be very fun, says Christer Rolandssson who is part of Lorås northern hunting team.

Lorås in Hammerdal won an organizing competition, therefore the villagers are now invited to an opera in the moose slaughterhouse this weekend.

Offers different songs

Together with four other local singers, Mikael Rönnberg will perform in the slaughterhouse tomorrow Saturday.

- We will perform both opera but also some musicals and songs, he says.

Mikael Rönnberg grew up in Hoting but lives in Bodø and is employed as an island musician in Røst municipality in Norway.

He also teaches at Nord University in Bodø and is an active freelance musician.
