“In Kabul and other large cities, there is discontent with the policy of the Taliban movement * amid rising prices for essential goods, food, fuel,” Zakharova said.

She called on the international community to take effective measures to prevent a humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. 

The diplomat also stressed that Russia, for its part, is considering the possibility of delivering humanitarian aid to Kabul.

Earlier, the UN Special Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Afghanistan Ramiz Alakbarov said that the UN food aid stocks in the country could end at the end of September this year.
