Israeli media revealed that Emirati businessman Mohammed Al-Abbar made "generous" donations to one of the occupation projects in the Palestinian territories, by providing aid to thousands of Israeli families suffering from hunger and destitution.

The Calcalist economic website stated that the conference of the National Initiative for Food Security in Tel Aviv revealed for the first time the five donors who funded aid to thousands of starving families, worth 550 million shekels (more than 170 million dollars).

The website added that the aid was provided to the project over the past 18 years, noting that the aid was secretly provided to Israeli families.

Al-Abbar sparked controversy in his speech during the UAE-Israel economic conference, which was held on the sidelines of the GITEX conference, when he said that he was looking for family relations before economic relations with Israel.

Al-Abbar added - at the conference - that "business with Israel will inevitably come, but I am talking about your visit to my mother and my visit to your Israeli mother, and that our children communicate with each other."

On September 15, the UAE and Bahrain signed the two normalization agreements with Israel at the White House, under the auspices of former US President Donald Trump.
