The Pentagon facilities are closed and personnel are not allowed to leave due to a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, according to the Pentagon's Force Protection Agency.
The shooting occurred in the vicinity of the building, on the platform of the Metro Bus, according to CNN, a main entrance to the Pentagon used by
thousands of people
who enter and leave the building every day.
"At this time, we just confirmed that the Pentagon is closed. There is an incident at the Pentagon transit center," said Pentagon Force Protection Agency spokesman Chris Layman.
Layman said the scene is not safe and warned people to avoid the area.
