“On July 22, Moscow will host a working meeting between the Russian Foreign Minister and the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova wrote in Telegram.

Earlier, Pedersen announced his intention to visit the Russian capital in the near future for consultations.

On July 4, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Vershinin and the President's Special Representative for the Syrian Settlement Alexander Lavrentyev met with Pedersen in Geneva.
