July 8 2021L'australiana Ashleigh Barty is the first finalist of Wimbledon, the third round of the Grand Slam, being on the grass courts of the All England Club.
The number one tennis player in the WTA rankings she beats in the semifinals in two sets, German Angelique Kerber, now number 28 in the world but winner in 2018, with a score of 6-3, 7-6 (3) in an hour and a half.
Barty will face the winner of the other semifinal in the final, which sees the Czech Karolína Plíšková (13) and the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (4) on the field.
