The European Parliament has voted in favor of the Unified Europe Regulation, CEF.

The decision means that northern Sweden will be included in the map of the EU's most prioritized infrastructure.

- This confirms the importance of northern and central Sweden for the entire EU economy, says Joakim Berg who is project manager at the Bothnian Corridor.

Large projects must be completed

One of the EU's goals is that by 2030 it will be possible to run long and heavy trains along the entire Bothnian transport corridor.

Then the New East Coast Line, the Norrbotnia Line and Godsstråket through Bergslagen must be completed.

For Sweden, this also means that up to thirty percent of the investment costs for the construction of a railway along the Bothnian Corridor can be paid by the EU.
