This was stated by the Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, leaving the Foreign Affairs Council which was held in Luxembourg.



"It is a fundamental moment for the restart of Italy and the whole of Europe, there are countries such as Germany, France, Luxembourg, Belgium that have already eliminated the obligation of outdoor masks, Spain will do so shortly and 'Italy cannot be outdone ".



"We have 46 million doses of vaccine that have been administered, we have 99% of Italy that is in the white zone at the moment, we have the green pass, you can enter if vaccinated as tourists from all EU countries, from Canada, the United States, Japan. And removing the mask is a fundamental sign of trust for tourists who want to come to Italy ", he added.



"It means that Italy is ready to welcome tourists. And welcoming tourists means restarting our economy, our businesses, trade, artisans. I want to say it clearly: tourists must be able to enjoy Italy and their holidays to the fullest. ", insisted the head of the foreign ministry.



"At the same time, removing the mask also means a great sign of restart for the Italian economy, it means that we are ready for the new normal after the pandemic. Italy wants to be the protagonist of the European recovery", highlighted Di Maio.
