Chairman Choi Jae-hyung of the Audit Committee said, "I will organize my thoughts soon (I will reveal)" in relation to being mentioned as a potential presidential candidate in the opposition party today (18th).

Chairman Choi said, "I am well aware that there are many rumors and speculations in the media and in the political circles regarding my recent trajectory or whether I should play a different role," Choi said in response to a question from Rep. Choi Kang-wook of the Democratic Party.

"Political neutrality or job independence is the very essence of the Board of Audit and Inspection," he said. "I know that sometimes even hard-working auditors find it embarrassing."

However, when asked by Rep. Choi if it is desirable to run for the election as soon as the head of the constitutional institution completes his duties, he said, "I think there are various judgments on that," and said that there was no problem in running for office.
