In an interview with Argumenty i Fakty, Lavrov said that the presidents will independently determine the key topics for discussion at the summit.

He added that in recent years, an unhealthy situation has developed in Russian-American relations, a lot of "irritants" have accumulated, including anti-Russian sanctions and unsubstantiated accusations.

“We are ready to consider and resolve any issues on the bilateral agenda, as well as work together to resolve global problems, regional conflicts and crises,” Lavrov said.

Earlier, the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov said that the choice of the city for the meeting between Putin and Biden is a technical decision, the very fact of the meeting is important. 

On April 13, a telephone conversation took place between Putin and Biden.

During the talks, the current state of Russian-American relations was discussed.
