The recent vaccine shortage thus means that the younger groups have to wait another time before the first vaccine dose when the older ones are given priority.

Week 23, however, it looks like the vaccine supply will increase, but it is not about an unlimited supply.

- We would of course want even more because we have very good capacity, the care providers are ready and so do the residents, says vaccination coordinator Kristine Rygge.

"Can turn around quickly"

And even though the number of infections and the number that require hospital care is declining, continued caution was called for at Wednesday's press conference.

- It can quickly turn upwards again, we must not forget that the pandemic is going on here and now.

It is important to gain time so that more people have time to get vaccinated, said infection control doctor Thomas Wahlberg.
