The rate of increase in the price index of personal consumption expenditure in the United States is the lowest in about three years. The January PCE (Personal Consumption Expenditure Price Index) announced by the US Department of Commerce increased by 2.4% compared to the same month of the previous year.

The index, which excludes energy and food, which have large price fluctuations, rose 2.8%, down 0.1 points from the previous month. The rate has remained below 3% since November last year, once again showing that inflation is slowing down.
