The French Ugo Humbert and Gilles Simon, but also Corentin Moutet and Pierre-Hugues Herbert were all eliminated Monday in the first round of the ATP tennis tournament in Lyon.

Humbert, 33rd player in the world and N.2 French, lost in three sets against the Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka (N.60) while he was leading 5-1 in the first set (3-6, 6-3, 6- 4).

"It was not a good game. It's a bit tough on earth at the moment. I was disappointed on the court," responded Humbert.

"I train well and the level is good in training but I have trouble transferring it to a match. We must try to stay positive," he said again, showing a lack of confidence.

"We must try to build it on a daily basis", however assured Ugo Humbert.

For his part, Gilles Simon (N.66) had no opportunity to reverse the situation against Slovenian Aljaz Bedene (N.55) 6-2, 6-3 while Corentin Moutet (N.70), beneficiary of 'an invitation, yielded, also entry, in front of the Briton Cameron Norrie 7-5, 6-3.

Finally, the American Sebastian Korda (N.65) got the better of Pierre-Hugues Herbert 7-6, 6-4.
