Giessen (dpa / lhe) - The Giessen government president Christoph Ullrich has tested positive for the corona virus.

The regional council announced on Friday that he was in quarantine at home.

Ullrich is fine.

He now conducts his official business from the home office.

Since he is on vacation this week and is staying at home, he has had no direct contact with his work environment.

The regional council of Giessen, with around 1,300 employees, is one of three regional councils in Hesse and is responsible for five districts in central Hesse.

Around one million people live in the region with around 100 cities.
