In Scotland, the SNP separatists narrowly missed the absolute majority in the Parliament of Edinburgh but won the elections far ahead of all the other parties.
Their leader, Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon, immediately felt that this success at the polls gave her a clear mandate to organize a new self-determination referendum.

in Holyrood, the SNP will have a large majority in favor of independence with the support of the Greens.

Boris Johnson
repeated that he was firmly opposed to it.
But with such a blank check granted by the Scots to the SNP, it will be increasingly difficult for it to justify this refusal.
Especially since Nicola Sturgeon is moving cautiously: she promises to focus first on the fight against the pandemic and economic recovery, and does not envisage a referendum for two or three years.
In the evening, Boris Johnson congratulated the independence leader and invited her to cooperate.
