Mainz (dpa / lrs) - CDU parliamentary group leader Christian Baldauf has asked the Rhineland-Palatinate state government for more transparency in the allocation of vaccination appointments.

Health Minister Sabine Bätzing-Lichtenthäler (SPD) has so far not been able to adequately explain "why there are more and more cases in which those affected have the impression that the prioritization is being broken for inexplicable reasons at their expense," he criticized on Thursday.

To justify this only with regional differences in the processing of individual prioritization groups or the preference of individual groups such as teachers falls short in view of "the large number of complaints present", said Baldauf.

"We now receive letters from people every day who plausibly point out discrepancies that they consider to be unjust," he explained.

Bätzing-Lichtenthäler admitted on Wednesday that in some of the 32 vaccination centers in Rhineland-Palatinate it was already people from prioritization group 3, while in others people from group 2 were waiting for an appointment.

Among other things, she cited “regional differences” as the reason for this.
