Kiel / Westerland (dpa / lno) - The northernmost casino in Germany, the casino in Westerland on Sylt, will cease gaming at the end of this year.
Then the long-term lease for the rooms in the town hall expires.
Spielbank Schleswig-Holstein GmbH announced on Friday that there was no other attractive location on the island.
The corona situation with the associated closure of all casinos has nothing to do with the decision, said managing director Guido Schlütz of the German press agency.
Other casinos in the north are located in Flensburg, Kiel, Lübeck and Schenefeld.
