Potsdam (dpa / bb) - New headwind for Education Minister Britta Ernst (SPD): The Brandenburg State School Advisory Board (LSB) has spoken out against tests in schools.

The state school advisory board rejects the test concept for those working in schools and expects a concept for testing all those involved in schools in an exclusively domestic environment, according to the letter from the highest participation body in Brandenburg published on Tuesday evening.

The LSB points out that this would require personnel in protective clothing and instructions for carrying out the tests.

"We assume that no teachers or teachers agree to test children in school," says the letter.

In addition, the advisory board points out that only two tests per week would not provide sufficient security anyway.

Starting next Monday, students will have to test twice a week before entering the school.

In principle, these should be carried out at home.

However, Ernst had declared in the state parliament last Friday that students who had forgotten the test should be tested in a separate room in the schools.

Ministry spokeswoman Ulrike Grönefeld specified on Wednesday that this should only apply to exceptional cases.

"If children have forgotten their parents' test certificate, it would be nice if they could be tested in school - otherwise they would have to be sent home," said Grönefeld.

"The schools - just like masks - could also have tests ready for this."

There should be another conversation with the LSB.
