Frankfurt / Berlin (dpa / lhe) - The number of new corona infections in Hesse continues to rise.
According to the Berlin Robert Koch Institute (RKI), new cases were registered on Saturday 2025 within one day.
The nationwide incidence, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days, was 123.6 after 111.8 the previous day.
The number of deaths associated with the virus rose by 19 to a total of 6,473. Since the start of the pandemic, 231,579 infections have been registered in Hesse (as of 3:08 a.m.).
In the regions, the district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg had the highest incidence with 216.2.
The city of Offenbach (210.3) and the district of Fulda (202.6) were also above a value of 200.
The value was lowest in Bergstrasse district at 71.8
According to data from the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine, there were 409 Covid-19 patients on Saturday, 186 of whom were ventilated (as of 8.19 a.m.) in the intensive care units of Hessian hospitals.
1701 of the intensive care beds available in 1940 were occupied, including by people with other diseases.
