United States: police officer killed in attack on Capitol Hill
The suspect first attempted to run over the police officers with his car before going out and attacking them with a knife on Friday April 2 at the seat of the United States Congress.

A man was shot dead near the Capitol in Washington after hitting two police officers with his car and then attacking them with a knife.
One of them died of his injuries.

Three months after
the assault on the Capitol
on the sidelines of a speech by Donald Trump, the seat of the US Congress again experienced an act of violence, this Friday, April 2.
This time, the attack was limited to the perimeter of the building and targeted the police, causing the death of a police officer.

The suspect hit two of our agents with his car,

The perpetrator of the attack was shot dead.
This attack does not appear to be linked to "
terrorism
", the police said.
The walls of the Capitol had been placed under very high protection after the attack of January 6.
However, some of the protective barriers had recently been removed and the security perimeter tightened around the seat of the US Parliament.
