The Prime Minister, Jean Castex, announced in a press release published Friday evening the renewal of the approval of the Anticor association.

This allows the association to act in legal cases of corruption.

For several months, Anticor had feared to be deprived of this renewal for political reasons.

Jean Castex announced Friday evening in a press release the renewal of Anticor's approval which allows the association to act in judicial cases of corruption, while it had feared for several months of being deprived for reasons policies.

The Prime Minister underlined in his press release that the analysis of the request for renewal of the authorization "noted a lack of internal transparency on the donations collected, the association not being able to justify the respect of its own procedures to ensure the effective information of the members of its Board of Directors, at least until May 2020 ".

Grievances but a renewal

The text also mentions "a challenge to the conditions for the renewal of the Board of Directors in June 2020, as part of a contentious action brought by some of the members of the association."

Nevertheless, "in view of the responses made by the association indicating its intention to modify its statutes to better guarantee the conditions of transparency on its funding, on the one hand, and the absence of a court decision to date on the regularity contested decisions "concerning the renewal of its board of directors," the Prime Minister has decided to renew the approval of the Anticor association ", according to the press release.

"This renewal reserves the possibility of carrying out a reassessment of the situation if new elements should justify it", insisted the Prime Minister.

"Renewed approval !!!"

welcomed in a tweet the president of the association since June 2020, Elise Van Beneden.

The approval, granted to the association in 2015 and then renewed without difficulty, officially expired on February 15 and was extended to Friday.

The file, lost at first, had been investigated by the Chancellery since October, under the control of the Prime Minister.

The Keeper of the Seals Eric Dupond-Moretti, who is the subject of an Anticor complaint before the Court of Justice of the Republic for illegal taking of interest, had withdrawn from the processing of the file.
