Libya: French, Italian and German diplomacy call for a departure of mercenaries

After the appeal of the UN Secretary General on Wednesday, from Egypt on Thursday, it was the three French, Italian and German ministers along with the head of Libyan diplomacy who called during a joint press conference in Tripoli with the rapid departure of the mercenaries.

We reiterate the need for the departure of all mercenaries from Libya and immediately

 " declared Thursday, March 25, Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs Najla al-Mangoush during the press conference alongside her three European counterparts visiting Tripoli, just ten days after the new unified government took office.

This surprise trip by French, Italian and German ministers to Libya is obviously intended to support the new executive.

The departure of foreign mercenaries is necessary for the Libyan state to assert its sovereignty,

" said Jean-Yves Le Drian, the head of French diplomacy.

Show a rediscovered European unity

Europeans want to speak with one voice while trying to turn the page on their differences.

This visit aims to demonstrate "

a necessary unity

" on this country which represents "

our immediate neighborhood

" according to the French minister.

In difficulty in Libya because of its support for Khalifa Haftar representing one of two opposing camps, Paris seems to be maneuvering to redeploy and invest in this country on the way to its reconstruction.

President of the presidential council Mohamed al-Manfi was in Cairo on Thursday where he met the Egyptian president.

Abdelfattah al-Sisi assured the new Libyan executive of his "

unconditional support 

".

He also called on the mercenaries to leave Libya.
