As noted on the website of the State Duma, according to the bill, the provisions related to the restriction on holding the office of President of Russia for more than two terms are being clarified.
In December 2020, the State Duma approved the bill in the first reading.
The draft was also previously approved by the government and recommended for adoption in the first reading by the specialized committee of the Duma on control and regulation.
The authors of the initiative on the presidential terms were the deputies Pavel Krasheninnikov and Olga Savastyanova, as well as Senator Andrei Klishas.
