"After nearly two years of legal proceedings, 55-year-old Moon Chul Myung, a citizen of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, has been extradited to the United States," the ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry of Justice stressed that this is "the first case of extradition to the United States of a citizen of the DPRK."
The press service added that Moon Chol Myung and his accomplices are accused of money laundering in the amount of more than $ 1.5 million.
Earlier, a former official was extradited to Russia from Spain.
