On Monday, March 22, it became known that in the area of ​​the village of Imandra in the Murmansk region, a group of tourists from St. Petersburg on an unequipped route fell under the collapse of a snow cornice.

According to local media reports, the snow cap has come down from Mount Mannepakh.

As a result of the incident, a minor girl was killed.

“At 18:00, a registered tourist group from St. Petersburg received information that as a result of the melting of the snow mass near the village of Imandra, there is a minor child born in 2008 under the snow.

The rest of the members of the group do not need medical assistance, their condition is satisfactory, ”the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement.

At the same time, TASS, citing rescuers, indicated that the group of tourists consisted of 16 people, 13 of whom are minor children.

To provide assistance, 53 rescuers came forward, including the calculation of dog handlers, 18 pieces of equipment and 11 snowmobiles.

Also, representatives of the regional Investigative Committee went to the place of the emergency.

In parallel with this, the department began to check for possible violations in the provision of services and activities with the participation of children.

In addition, the prosecutor's office of the Murmansk region began its own investigation into the incident.

If there are grounds, based on the results of the inspection, measures of the prosecutor's response will be taken.

"An order has been given to the prosecutor of the city of Olenegorsk to carry out an inspection on the fact that a group of tourists, including minors, has fallen under the snow mass that has descended near the Imandra station," the statement says.

It was also indicated that the prosecutor of Olenegorsk coordinates the actions of the Monchegorsk and Kirovsky emergency rescue teams.

Later it became known that the child was found, but it was not possible to save him.

"Resuscitation measures were not successful, the girl died," the press service of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the region told TASS.

After that, the department opened criminal proceedings on the fact of the incident.

“The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Murmansk Region has opened a criminal case into the death of a child born in 2008, on the grounds of a crime under paragraph“ c ”, part 2 of Art.

238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the requirements of the safety of life or health of consumers, resulting in the death of a person by negligence), ”the message says.

In addition, the investigators indicated that the tour group was skiing along a "self-planned route" that passed several kilometers from Imandra station in the Olenegorsk region.

At the same time, unverified information appeared on the Mash Telegram channel that the tragedy could have happened through the fault of the organizers of the tour group, who announced one ski route, but went on another, unequipped.

Meanwhile, the governor of the Murmansk region, Andrei Chibis, said that three teenagers fell under the snow block.

“They dug up two of them quickly, the 13-year-old girl was searched for longer, unfortunately, she died.

The main thing now is to get the rest of the children out.

Rescuers make their way to them.

Communication with the group has been established, ”he wrote on his page in the social network“ VKontakte ”.

The incident resulted in the death of a married couple and their child, and a 15-year-old teenager was also seriously injured.

The chairman of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, put the investigation of the incident under control in the central office of the department.

The department opened a case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art.

293 of the Criminal Code of Russia (negligence, resulting in the death of two persons), detaining three operational duty officers of the Unified Duty Dispatch Service (EDDS) of Norilsk, the head of the department for civil defense and emergency situations of the city administration 

and two chief specialists of the municipal control department of the city administration.

Meanwhile, on January 18, an avalanche descended on Mount Mussa-Achitara in the village of Dombay in the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia.

The snow mass hit two ski equipment rental points and affected the cafe.

As a result of the emergency, one person died, according to TASS, it turned out to be the president of the Dombay Alpine Skiing and Snowboard Federation, Hadji-Murat Marshankulov.

In addition, eight people were injured.

79 people were involved in eliminating the consequences of the emergency.

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the article "Negligence, resulting in grievous bodily harm or death of a person by negligence."
