Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Hamburg's consumers are most annoyed about hidden price increases due to changed filling quantities in food packaging.

This is a result of the level of consumer protection that Justice and Consumer Protection Senator Anna Gallina (Greens) presented on Tuesday.

Immediately after the sham packaging, the more than 1,700 survey participants complained about too much sugar in food and the throwing away of still edible food in the supermarket.

Misleading information on the contents and unclear or missing information on the origin of food were also viewed critically.

As further annoyances, too high electricity costs, poor telephone customer service from companies, unwanted advertising calls and bank charges were named.

There was very little information - probably because of the limited travel activity in the corona pandemic - in the area of "vacation and travel".

The survey is carried out by the consumer protection center Hamburg.

"It shows very specifically where the problems lie, what annoys people and where we have to readjust in consumer protection," said Gallina.
