To protest against the ban on inter-line traffic, many bikers will demonstrate on the Paris ring road on Saturday.

According to motorcycle taxi drivers, the right to ride between cars allows them to move faster while being safe.

Since January 31, the circulation of motorized two-wheelers between two lines of cars has been prohibited in France.

If the idea was to regulate this very widespread habit among bikers, and until now tolerated, the experiment carried out in ten departments was ultimately not conclusive.

To protest against the ban on inter-line traffic, motorcyclists will parade on the Paris ring road on Saturday afternoon, from 1 p.m. Porte Maillot.

They will take the direction of Porte de Vincennes, via the inner ring road, indicates France Bleu.

"Without line-ups, there are more motorcycle taxis"

"I get up in the morning and I get on the motorbike and I no longer feel like I am legal. When we drive today, we are like fugitives", laments Jess, motorbike taxi driver .

When he is on the Paris ring road, he goes up the lines of cars.

Always with an eye on the mirror, because each time he risks a withdrawal of three points on his driving license.

But when the bikers drive quietly, there is no risk, he assures the microphone of Europe 1: "We slide, we go out quietly. The cars are cul-à-cul, they can do nothing . "

"Our job is to save time, in safety, for our customers, to take this path which is the path of bikers", continues the motorcycle taxi driver.

"Without inter-lines, there is no longer a job, there are no more motorcycle taxis, it is no longer useful", he laments.

Less risk, according to the drivers

For his colleague Michel, almost fifteen years of work to his credit, not prohibiting inter-line traffic is also a question of safety.

"[If it's forbidden], there would be a two-wheeler between two vehicles. There should be ambulances at every door," he warns.

"Because there would be too many accidents! There is a lack of visibility of two wheels and braking is much more effective on a car than on a motorcycle: between two cars, anything can happen", explains the professional at microphone from Europe 1.

More than a return to experimentation, motorcyclists are calling for the legalization of the ski lift, in order to allow driving schools to integrate it into the training of motorists.
