The total number of intercity transportation trips in Beijing during the Spring Festival in 2024 exceeded 100 million, a new high. The total passenger flow in and out of Beijing by self-driving roads, railways, civil aviation, and inter-provincial highways was 105 million, an increase of 37% and 7% respectively compared with 2023 and 2019.
On expressways, the traffic volume totaled 81.75 million vehicles. In terms of public transportation, passenger traffic was stable, with a total of 540 million passengers. The proportion of railways in commercial transportation increased to 72.7%.
