Lack of availability and denied sampling are two types of corona-related complaints that patients have sent to the patient board.

When Ulrika Rapp ended up in the emergency room at Danderyd's hospital, her blood pressure and pulse were tested - but she did not get a covid test.

The waiting time in the emergency room was ten hours, and the medical staff judged that she was not sick enough to be admitted.

That's why she went home.

Has doubled the quick tests

Danderyd Hospital only tests patients who are admitted, but until just a few weeks ago it was not possible to test all admitted patients.

But now the number of rapid tests has doubled.

- Here we need to know.

Can I put this patient in a lighthouse?

At present, we also take antigen tests on those who do not have symptoms.

Because we know that very many covid patients can have no symptoms, but still be contagious, says Richard Fletcher, chief physician and medical director at the emergency department at Danderyd Hospital.

Slower tests

Slower tests are used on patients who are sent home from the hospital, but who still have symptoms of covid-19.

Then the patients receive an answer within 12-24 hours.

- For a period, we did not take a test on them either.

It all depends on how seriously ill you are and what guidelines we adhere to right now, says Richard Fletcher.

For Danderyd Hospital, complaints from patients are important.

During the pandemic, the hospital has a weekly, unlike previous monthly, review of each clinic's deviations and any problems that must be looked at.

In the emergency room, we have it running.

A phone call to the patient who entered can be worth a huge amount.
