Altenkirchen (dpa / mv) - In a traffic accident on the island of Rügen, four people were injured on Wednesday.
As the police announced, a small van and another car collided near Altenkirchen (Western Pomerania-Rügen).
According to initial findings, the 63-year-old driver of the van had overlooked the right of way of the other car on Landesstraße 30 when turning left.
The 75-year-old driver and his 77-year-old wife in the passenger seat suffered serious injuries.
The passenger was brought to a clinic by rescue helicopter, the 75-year-old by ambulance.
The driver of the van and his 56-year-old co-driver from the neighboring district of Western Pomerania-Greifswald were also injured in a hospital.
The road to the north of the island was closed for about an hour.
The damage was estimated at around 30,000 euros.
