Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The coronavirus mutation discovered in Great Britain was first detected in Hamburg.

A genome sequencing analysis revealed variant B 1.1.7 in seven cases, the health authority announced on Wednesday.

Five of the cases were due to a return trip from the UK and came from two family-related households.

According to the information, the two other cases relate to the latest corona outbreak at the aircraft manufacturer Airbus, although the infection environment has not yet been clearly clarified.

One of these two cases concerns Hamburg, the other the Hamburg area.
