328 years with men - here is Norrbotten's first female governor

First woman - at 382 years

Today, the Norrbotten County Administrative Board announced that the government has appointed Lotta Finstorp as governor of Norrbotten County.

She will start her employment on the first of February.

The employment will then continue until November 30, 2025. This means that Norrbotten will have its first female governor.

For the past 382 years, only men have sat on the chair.

Vice Chairman of the Culture Committee

Lotta Finstorp is a member of parliament for the Moderates and second vice chair of the culture committee.

She has also been an opposition councilor in the Sörmland region, chairman of the regional board in the Sörmland region and chairman of the municipal board in Flen.

I am convinced that she will contribute to Norrbotten's continued development in a very good way and I am happy that the handover to the new governor will take place without delay, says the resigning governor Björn O. Nilsson.
