Seckach (dpa / lsw) - A masked man temporarily took control of a 38-year-old woman in the Neckar-Odenwald district.

The man armed with a knife was said to have been waiting for the woman in the back seat of her car.

The car was parked in a parking lot in Seckach, as the Mosbach public prosecutor announced on Tuesday.

The perpetrator asked his victim to drive to the neighboring city of Buchen.

He continued to hold the knife to the driver's throat.

During the journey, the stranger demanded that she steer the car onto a dark dirt road.

Instead, the woman drove on to the nearby town of Bödigheim, stopped the car and started honking to draw attention to herself.

The stranger then fled on Sunday evening on foot.

The public prosecutor's office is investigating attempted deprivation of liberty and is now hoping for evidence from witnesses.
