A total of thirteen people have been infected with covid-19 - ten people underground and three above ground.

Of those infected, four worked at the same workplace and the others at other workplaces.

LKAB exhibits temporary breaks

LKAB now hopes that the company's extra measures will stop the spread of infection.

In addition to the general rules - such as keeping your distance and washing your hands - the company also wants to reduce the physical contact that can occur at coffee shops and breaks.

- When a work team is affected, the isolation increases even more.

We do not mix shifts and we do not take out people on overtime.

We have also set up temporary breaks so that you can stay away from each other as much as possible, says Anders Lindberg, LKAB's information manager.

Do you feel anxious about the situation?

- No, do not worry.

There is a general societal spread of infected people in Kiruna and then it will be the case that LKAB also gets infected.

Then it is important that we do not contribute to spreading the infection further.

That is why we are taking action.
