Bielefeld (dpa) - Relegation battle instead of European Cup dreams: Hertha BSC is simply not moving in the Bundesliga and has to look further down.

At the end of the 15th matchday, the capital club lost 0: 1 (0: 0) to promoted Arminia Bielefeld.

The relegation place now occupied by 1. FC Köln is only five points away, while the desired European Cup places are nine points away.

Cologne are the next opponents of Berlin on Saturday, they and possibly coach Bruno Labbadia should not allow themselves another defeat.

The East Westphalia, on the other hand, left the last three places for the first time since the end of November and are only three points behind the Berliners after their fourth win of the season.

Reinhold Yabo scored the golden goal for the weakest offensive in the league with his first Bundesliga goal (64th).

Hertha was the dominant team at the beginning and could have taken the lead early.

Striker Jhon Cordoba was staged well twice (7th / 10th), but both times failed to hit the ball properly.

Then the game flagged.

Hertha was dominant, but without Matheus Cunha, who was missing for a short time due to groin problems, almost all creativity was missing.

The Arminia, on the other hand, did not enter dangerous areas at all.

In the 35th minute, the game started moving.

Herthas Niklas Stark hit Fabian Klos in the penalty area while running backwards with his arm against the chest.

Referee Guido Winkmann initially decided on a penalty and, to the surprise of many, took this decision back after a 4:13 minute video evidence.

After the break, Arminia were suddenly the better and dominant team and almost quickly took the lead.

After a ricochet from Fernandez Aldarete, Sergio Cordova only hit the side netting from the turn (48th).

A quarter of an hour later the 1-0 fell.

Berlin's Lucas Tousart unhappily extended a long throw-in from Cedric Brunner with his head, Yabo asserted himself against Stark and gave the former Bielefeld Alexander Schwolow no chance with a shot under the crossbar.

The Berliners, who were only ten because of an injury-related treatment of Jessic Ngankam at that time, protested in vain because of an alleged foul on Stark.

Hertha was now shocked, Arminia elated.

With a shot by Ritsu Doan from almost 20 meters, the post prevented the 2-0 (70th).

Labbadia lamented and cursed on the sidelines and changed offensively, but his team didn't really get any better.

The equalizer by Krzysztof Piątek was rightly not given due to handball (84th).
