Mainz (dpa / lrs) - After the federal-state resolutions to contain the corona pandemic, the government in Rhineland-Palatinate is presenting a new state regulation today.

Before that, the cabinet advises on the details of the implementation in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Then the state parliament is informed first.

The 15th Corona Control Ordinance should come into force next Monday.

Prime Minister Malu Dreyer (SPD) has spoken out in favor of making an exception to the contact restrictions: When the federal and state governments decide that contact is restricted to one household plus one other person, children up to six years of age should not be taken into account.

There should also be exceptions for compelling reasons for childcare or the care of people in need of care.

The previous regulation that children under 14 years of age are exempt from the contact restrictions was overturned by the federal and state governments on Tuesday.

This met with criticism from the Family Minister Anne Spiegel (Greens) in the state government.

Otherwise, the state ordinance is intended to extend the previous restrictions in gastronomy, retail and culture until the end of the month.

Residents of cities and counties with an incidence of more than 200 - that is, the number of new infections within a week based on 100,000 inhabitants - should not move further than 15 kilometers from their place of residence without good reason.
