05 January 2021

Elementary and middle preschools will reopen throughout Italy - with very few exceptions - in attendance on 7 January, the day after tomorrow.

On the same day, high schools in Trentino Alto Adige and Valle d'Aosta will reopen in the presence of half of the students.

In Lazio, Tuscany and Emilia Romagna, high schools will reopen to 50% attendance on 11 January.

The other Regions go in no particular order.

This is the picture in detail:

Trentino Alto Adige

- students will return to school in attendance at 50% on 7 January.

Valle d'Aosta

- is ready to open high schools on January 7, assures Luciano Caveri, councilor for education of the Alpine region.

Piedmont

- high school students will return to class on January 18th "compatibly with the trend of the epidemic".

Liguria

- fluid situation Governor Toti will announce the decision of the Region on the opening of all schools in the next few hours.

Lombardy

- is ready for the reopening of schools, with the plans made by the prefectures, which also concern transport, all defined.

However, they explain from the region, common sense requires understanding what will happen in the coming days.

Friuli Venezia Giulia

- Governor Massimiliano Fedriga has signed the ordinance that will be in force from 7 to 31 January according to which the teaching activity of secondary schools will be carried out in Ddi, integrated digital teaching.

Veneto - the closure of high schools continues until January 31st.

Emilia Romagna

- on 7 January the lessons in elementary and middle school will resume, on 11 January for high school students at 50%: this is the orientation that will be confirmed in the next few hours when a council meeting is scheduled.

Tuscany - high schools will resume face-to-face lessons on 11 January.

Already 7 in class all the others.

Marche

- distance learning will continue at 100% for secondary schools, state and equal, until January 31st.

The council decided it.

Lazio

- as in Emilia Romagna, on the 7th, face-to-face lessons for elementary and middle schools resume, on the 11th (but from the 7th the lessons with the dad resume) in presence for high school.

Abruzzo and Molise

- on 7 January all pupils from kindergarten, primary and lower secondary schools and from 11th 50% of high school students will return to carry out teaching in the presence up to 75% from 16th January.

Campania

- will reopen on Monday 11 January for pupils from kindergarten and the first two classes of primary school, exactly as it was before closing for the Christmas break.

Starting from January 18, the possibility of returning in attendance for the entire primary school will be evaluated from an epidemiological point of view and from January 25, for lower and upper secondary schools.

Calabria

- "If there are no dangers for our children, the school will resume in attendance at 50%, and not at 75%", said the president of the Calabria Region, Antonino Spirlì, reserving a decision in the next few hours.

Puglia

- the decisions will be made in the next few hours but it is possible to postpone the lessons in presence for high school and return to establish for all school students of all levels and distance teaching on request.

Sicily

- the school is preparing for the reopening on 7 or 8 January (the dates established in the regional calendar at the beginning of the year), with the above possibly 50% up to 18 January, when, if the epidemiological curve allows it, the percentage will rise to 75%.

Sardinia

- the Region is currently evaluating a return to class for high school, always respecting 50% of students in attendance, not before 15, but falling on a Friday it is conceivable Monday 18. There is also a hypothesis that arrives until February 1st.

All the others will return to school on January 7th.
